Kazakhstan
May 2009

After many days of waiting in Baku and then a 40 hour ferry ride across the Caspian Sea, we finally reached Kazakhstan.

As we fought headwinds and dirt tracks in the desert of Mangistau, south Kazakhstan, we encountered ancient burial sites, windswept canyons, surprised camels and friendly people.
